Why building Just Appraised is the most meaningful work of my career

Imran Khoja

And why now is the right time to join us

Every week, I talk to local government offices across the country. Most are small teams keeping essential parts of their communities running. They are overworked, understaffed, and often using tools that make their jobs harder than they need to be. And yet they show up every day because the work matters.

I started Just Appraised because I believe local government deserves better technology. Improving these workflows has a real impact on the communities we all live in. When we save a county office hours each day, that time goes back into serving people. When we reduce errors, we help strengthen trust in government.

If that kind of real-world impact resonates with you, I think you would feel at home here.

What it feels like to work here

Ownership, trust, and direct impact

One of the things I am most proud of at Just Appraised is the level of ownership people have. We are growing quickly, but we still operate with small, empowered teams. When you see a problem, you are expected to take it on. When you have an idea, people listen. When you ship something meaningful, you see the impact directly in the hands of our customers.

I have talked with teammates who came from environments where months could pass without knowing whether their work mattered. This is not that. Here, the connection between what you build and who it helps is clear and motivating.

A culture built around people

How we work together matters

We recently ran an internal engagement survey, and the results meant a lot to me. Participation was high, and the feedback reflected what I have always hoped this company would be.

People feel accountable for their work because they care.
People feel seen as humans, not just as roles.
Managers lead with empathy, and teammates look out for one another.

We are not perfect, and we have room to improve. One clear area of focus coming out of the survey is recognizing great work more consistently and creating more opportunities for connection across teams. But the themes that stood out most were kindness, accountability, and gratitude. Those are the values that shape how we operate.

As a founder, that is what matters most to me.

Why this next chapter matters

Building what comes next, together

We are entering a period of meaningful growth. We have launched new product lines and are investing in areas where we can make the biggest difference for local governments. That includes automation, connected workflows, and AI tools like Front Desk that improve how offices serve and communicate with their communities.

Joining Just Appraised now means helping shape where we go next. You will influence the roadmap, work directly with customers, and help define what good government technology looks like in practice.

You will also be doing this alongside a team that cares about the work, the mission, and each other.

If you are looking for work that matters

We would love to talk

I am looking for people who want ownership, who want to build with intention, and who want to see the real-world impact of their work.

If you are motivated by solving meaningful problems for people who deserve better tools, and if you want to help build a more human approach to government technology, I would love to connect.

Come build with us. Let’s do work that matters.
